Benediction! What a waiting story!

She came to us with 3 more siblings of her. A doe and two bucks. She was the last we kept from Lady Banks (Mom's preferred doe).

We named her Benediction as in French it means "Blessing". I passed her on to Abigail and told her to watch her closely, and see her grow as I believed she would do well.

She had huge long ears, looked awkward, grew well, then had times when she was just plain ugly. Then again, she went through a modeling phase of beauty and then her first freshening was RID-ICU-LOUS. Cutest udder, good teat placement, good general appearance, but a small small small well attached udder.

Her second freshening she just blew us away with her abilities!

So, we are so happy to have manifested our hopes into this little (well, Big) doe, and waited for her to blossom!

We didn't expected she would score as high because last year, Abigail involuntary "uddered her up" for 36 hours. When I found about it and asked why she would do that  as it is her doe, she explained that she thought I meant for her to stretch her udder and had misunderstood my explanation and time on how to stretch.

We were very worried about her udder being overstretched and thought she surely would lack and not look all that good. We figured we'd let her raise more kids and develop her kids while using her milk.

At just over 3 years old, Benediction has already had 12 kids, with over %50 being polled, just like her!

So, after all that, we are so so pleased!
